๐ŸŽ‰ The Scarecrows Are Coming… Are You Ready to Join the Fun? ๐ŸŽ‰

The Orrell Scarecrow Trail 2026 is nearly here, and we can’t wait to see the amazing creations popping up around our community!

Everyone is welcome to take part – whether you’re a pub, business, school, nursery, college, church, community group or an individual household. Gather your family, friends, neighbours or colleagues and create your very own scarecrow.

๐ŸŒŸ This Year’s Theme

Nursery Rhymes & Superheroes

But remember… that’s just the starting point! There are no strict rules, so let your imagination run wild. Whether it’s Little Bo Peep, Humpty Dumpty, Superman, Wonder Woman, or a completely original creation, we’d love to see it!

๐Ÿ’ก Top Tips for Building Your Scarecrow:

  • ๐ŸŒพ Start with a sturdy frame using wooden stakes or bamboo poles
  • ๐Ÿ‘• Dress it in old clothes to give it plenty of character.
  • ๐Ÿ“ฐ Stuff it with straw, newspaper or any materials you have at home.
  • ๐Ÿ˜Š Create a friendly face by drawing, painting or sewing one on – and don’t forget a big welcoming smile!
  • ๐Ÿท๏ธ Finally, give your scarecrow a fun name.

The Scarecrow Trail is all about bringing our community together, sparking creativity and putting smiles on people’s faces. It’s a fantastic activity to keep children entertained during the summer holidays, and once the displays are up, families can enjoy exploring the trail together to discover all the wonderful characters.

๐Ÿ“… Scarecrows should start appearing from 27th August, with judging taking place after 6th September.

๐Ÿ† This year there are three chances to win:

  • ๐Ÿฅ‡ Judge’s Favourite
  • ๐Ÿฅˆ Judge’s Runner-Up
  • โค๏ธ People’s Choice Award – the scarecrow that receives the most Facebook likes!

So, dust off those old clothes, gather your materials and get creating. We can’t wait to see Orrell filled with fun, colour and plenty of unforgettable scarecrows!
