Random Act of Kindness Day, 17th February 2024. Over the weekend Brighter Better Orrell volunteers delivered 130 bunches of daffodils to nominated and deserving members of our community.
Warm, welcoming spaces have been set up in some of Orrell and Up Holland''s libraries and churches. These are safe places you can visit to stay warm and see a friendly face, free of charge and without judgement. Each of them are slightly different in what they offer, but you’ll always be met with warmth, kindness and a friendly welcome.
On World Mental Health Day this year, 10th October 2023, we launched an appeal for a "Happy to Chat Bench", with the aim of helping combat loneliness and encouraging conversations within our community . This will be the first bench of its kind, not only in Orrell, but in the whole of Wigan and Leigh.
